Dr. Mitesh Surana is an Assistant Professor in the Structural Engineering group of the Department of Civil Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Ropar, since January 2019. Dr. Surana does teaching, research and consultancy in Structural Engineering. Dr. Surana's expertise includes seismic analysis and design of structures, seismic vulnerability assessment of structures, seismic safety assessment of secondary systems, post-earthquake building recovery model, selection and scaling of ground-motion records for nonlinear dynamic analyses, retrofitting of existing structures and contemporary and traditional housing stock of the Indian Himalayas.
