Outreach & Dissemination

Cardiac Physiome 2023:

With the help of Naomi Chesler, Anya Grosberg, and Pim Oomen, I will be co-organizing the 2023 international Cardiac Physiome Meeting in Irvine, CA. Dates, scientific program, and other details will be released by August 2022.

Virus Pandemic Working Group:

During the spring/summer of 2021, I was fortunate to be a contributing member of the NIH Interagency Modeling and Analysis Group (IMAG) on multiscale modeling in viral pandemics. As part of the first outreach and dissemination group, I helped steer the subgroups goals and contribute several organizational items to the broader working group as a whole. The group is actively participating in efforts related to mathematical modeling of immune response across different spatial and temporal scales.

High School and Undergraduate Outreach:

During my last semester of my Ph.D. at North Carolina State University, I organized a virtual seminar series for students at Bugg Magnet School in Garner, NC, titled "Computational Thinking in the Real World." During this, graduate students gave 15-20 minute presentations on how mathematics can be applied to real world scenarios at a level interpretable for the students. This experience included a diverse set of graduate student speakers, emphasizing that scientists and computational thinkers come from all different backgrounds to address real world problems.
