RUles and Safety

All riders must wear long pants (jeans or breeches), closed-toed shoes, and an ASTM-approved helmet (provided). 

Every rider must sign a liability waiver before riding. Minors must have a parent or guardian sign a liability waiver on their behalf. No one will ride without a liability waiver. You can download the liability waiver here:

The liability waiver states that you are required to have health insurance to ride horses at Misty Pines Stables. You may be asked to provide proof of insurance. Misty Pines Stables will not be liable for any injuries resulting from horseback riding. 

We reserve the right to refuse or stop a lesson at any point if we feel the safety of a person, horse, or trainer may be compromised. We reserve the right not to refund the lesson fee. 

We reserve the right to refuse or stop a lesson if we feel a rider is hesitant, nervous, fearful, or in some respect not ready to be around a horse or ride. We reserve the right not to refund the lesson fee.

Under the Equine Activity Liability Act, each participant who engagges in an equine activity expressly assumes the risks of engaging in and legal responsibility for injury, loss, or damage to person or property resulting from the risk of equine activities.
