About Me - Experiences
The Trollywood Animation Festival is hosted by the Trollhättan Animation Association and is supported by the Region Västra Götaland, City of Trollhättan and University West. The Trollywood Animation Festival has been run annually since 2016, except for 2020 when the Covid-19 pandemic broke out in Sweden.
The goals of the Trollywood Animation Festival are:
To bring together people interested in animation or already inside the business.
To create an inspiring and friendly atmosphere that facilitates the sharing of knowledge and technology, and in creates a good environment to do business in.
To highlight and grow the local animation industry. In Trollhättan there are unique conditions for this: the film tradition is strong, the university educates students in animation and Trollhättans Stad has invested in creative industries over a long period of time.
Sessions I'm interested in:
Concept Art in VFX Production | Martin Bergquist
Building generative AI models for character animation | Simon Alexanderson
DRAWING MEMORIES To translate someone else's memories into moving images | Annika Berström & Hanna Högstedt
Toon Boom Workshop | Ansgar Maßmann
Animation in Games Marketing | Arvid Steen
Procedural Modelling in Autodesk Maya / Bifrost | Roland Reyer
Materiality, spatiality and esoteric encounters – the artist and stop motion | Peter Larsson
Unfortunately, Martin Bergquist's talk Concept Art in VFX Production on Day 1 started around 3am in Texas, so I missed that one. The presentation by Annika Berström & Hanna Högstedt was suppose to be available digitally, but it wasn't.
I attempted to also catch Christian Ryltenius' making of Bamse and the World´s Smallest Adventure that was in the final time slot for day one. It was a sneak peak, and those can often have some cool 'making of' parts. Unfortunately, I had to help with state mandated testing at the time. Not to worry, I recorded it. During lunch, I sat down to watch it. My device didn't record any of the sound for it... cool, cool, cool.
No intended shade; a lot of festivals provided digital options due to Covid, but now most of them have stopped providing the online digital options- which is frankly quite disappointing. I appreciate those that still offer the online option even if bugs or issues occur.
