For Mista Presto, the love for music started early—so early, in fact, that he was skipping school just to grab the latest tracks. Back when new music meant heading to a physical store, Mista Presto would rush home with records in hand, spinning them on his dad's turntables in the basement. That early passion for music became the foundation of a career in radio that has spanned decades and connected audiences to the sounds and stories of Caribbean culture.
Over the years, Mista Presto has had the privilege of meeting legends like Marcia Griffiths and Mavado, and hosting iconic events like Redemption for the past 25 years. But it’s not just about rubbing elbows with stars; it’s about the people who share the same love for the music. Mista Presto recalls his most memorable moment at the first One Dance event: "Seeing everyone in the crowd singing, dancing, and enjoying themselves—that’s what I do it for."
Through his radio show, Island Xplosion, Mista Presto aims to connect listeners more deeply with the music and culture they love. Whether it’s introducing a classic hit to a new audience or bringing fresh tunes to dedicated fans, the goal is always the same: Music Brings Joy.
Off the air, Mista Presto continues to bring joy and connection in another way—as a youth basketball coach and referee. Whether courtside or on the airwaves, Mista Presto is all about sharing his passion and building community.
