I believe all students have a right to create their own learning. I strive to provide and guide students to understand and prepare the skills they need to follow any avenue they choose in life. In class, I believe directly teaching the core skills is necessary so all children have the background needed to become excellent in academics, but I also believe art, music, PE, and other curriculars should be integrated as much as possible so students can showcase their talents and develop their creativity. Education should be about helping individual students develop their unique skills and talents and preparing them to thrive in a changing world. I never want to limit the genius each child has inside. I believe that by allowing students to follow their own interests and creative paths whenever possible will not only give them a positive opinion of school and learning, but also prepare them to think critically and creatively when they transition out of school and into the real world.
