Hall of Fame is meant to reward students who strive to maintain good work habits while demonstrating a positive classroom attitude. The criterion is not determined by academic scores, but rather by neatly completed assignments that are turned in on time. Additionally, good behavior both inside and outside the classroom is also a prerequisite.
All class work is to be completed here at school. Homework is assigned on a nightly basis. You are responsible for accurately writing down all of your homework assignments, AND taking home the necessary materials and books. You are also responsible for completing all your homework and returning it the next day. If it is not completed, you must sign the “Late Board” and make up your work during your recess or lunch period. If it is not turned in by the end of the day, you will receive “0” points for the assignment. Work not turned in because of an absence will be handled separately.
At the end of each month, a progress report or Hall of Fame Award will be given to you. If you receive a progress report, you must have your parent sign it that night and return in the next day. Each month begins a new Hall of Fame.

Behavior Chart
I wanted to give you a brief overview and heads up on the Hall of Fame slip in your child's Northwood folder, so you can have a conversation with your child about their behaviors in class. Part of making the Hall of Fame is based on positive behavior! The key to the various potential marks that can be made on the behavior chart looks like this:
B = Inappropriate Behavior
D = Disrespectful
M = Missing Assignment
NFD = Not Following Directions
P = Playground
X = Off Task
T = Talking
A warning will be given to students before any marks are made on a chart. Behavior charts will be taken home weekly in student's Northwood folders on Thursdays to be signed by a parent/guardian and returned to class on Friday.
Thank you for all of your support,
Miss Severance
