Solo & Ensemble Entry Forms must be completed by Orff, Middle School and High school entries. College participants do not need to complete this step.
ORFF ENSEMBLE (EXHIBITION ONLY)
Rules
Orff Ensembles are invited to perform as part of the Large Ensemble/Middle School Ensemble portion of the festival.
Ensembles will be given a 15 minute time slot (to include setup & tear down). Multiple pieces may be performed during a single time slot.
Performing groups will need to provide their own Orff equipment.
Entries are open January 28 to March 8. If there is room, late entries may be considered.
MIDDLE SCHOOL (EXHIBITION ONLY)
Rules
A maximum of 10 minutes for Solos & Ensembles (to include setup & tear-down). Multiple pieces may be performed during a single time slot.
Only one original score is needed for the adjudicator.
Entries are open January 28 to March 8. If there is room, late entries may be considered.

HIGH SCHOOL COMPETITION
Rules
A maximum of 10 minutes for Solos & Small Ensembles; 15 minutes for Large Ensembles (to include setup & tear-down). Multiple pieces may be performed during a single time slot.
MSHSAA adjudication sheets will be used for comments, and adjudicators will assign E/O/S/D/I ratings similar to MSHSAA Solo & Ensemble.
First, second, and third-place awards for each category will be determined by the adjudicators in a “best of day” format. Point-value scores will not be assigned, and performances will not be ranked past 3rd place.
The PAS MO Chapter Day of Percussion will conclude with an awards ceremony for all competitive events. High School Small Ensemble and Large Ensemble winners will have the opportunity to perform during the evening concert.

Per MSHSAA, directors must be present at the event in order for a student to compete.
Per MSHSAA, community/non-school affiliated solos & ensembles, or students without a director present may perform in exhibition only.

This is a LIVE competition taking place at the PAS Missouri Chapter Day of Percussion on Saturday, April 25. Competitors will receive a schedule of performance times (will be posted at missouripas.com), and must be ready to perform at their scheduled time.

Marimba Competition Rules
Marimba solos will be given a maximum of 10 minutes to perform.
Only one entry per category, per student.
Any full-time undergraduate or graduate student attending a Missouri college or university may enter.
This is a two-part competition:
Part 1: Video Submission
Students will upload their unlisted performance via YouTube, and email their YouTube link to mopasboard@gmail.com.
Videos must be uncut and unedited, with high audio fidelity, and submissions must not have been recorded prior to December 1st, 2025.
Video submissions are due March 30.
If selected, students should be prepared to participate in a masterclass with their submitted work at the PAS Missouri Chapter Day of Percussion on Saturday, April 25.
Part 2: Masterclass Invitation
The top 5 placements from the video submission round, including no more than 2 graduate students, will by invited to participate in a Marimba Masterclass presented by Dr. Brian Zator at the PAS Missouri Chapter Day of Percussion. Students will be notified of their invitation via email prior to the Day of Percussion.
The PAS MO Chapter Day of Percussion will conclude with an awards ceremony for all competitive events.
