All MSHSAA-eligible students may audition. Selection to Middle School or High School District Honors Band is not required.
Students auditioning for, or performing with, the Missouri All-State Percussion Ensemble must:
Be enrolled in a MSHSAA member Middle or High School*
Be enrolled in their Middle School and/or High School Band program
Be in grades 7-8 (MS) or 9-12 (HS) during the 2026–27 school year
Meet eligibility requirements for interscholastic music activities as outlined by the Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA), per By-Law 4.2.3
Per MSHSAA By-Law 1.3.1, each participating school is responsible for supervising its students at all interscholastic music activities. A school faculty member or administrator must be present at district and state music festivals. Any entry participating without a faculty member or administrator in attendance will be disqualified.

Auditions
Audition Fee: $15 per student
All-State Percussion Ensemble Members
Members: $150 Participation Fee
Alternates: $15 T-Shirt Fee
Honorable Mention Designate: No fee
*Please note all fees are non-refundable
The forms listed below must be completed for All-State Percussion Ensemble members and alternates no later than 10 days after notification. Honorable Mention designates do not need to complete the forms.

The $150 All-State Participation Fee must be paid by January 15.
Failure to submit these forms and fees as described may result in removal from the Missouri All-State Percussion Ensemble.
If a student elects to withdraw from participation in the Missouri All-State Percussion Ensemble, a formal written statement must be submitted via email from the band director to the MOPAS Board, with copies sent to the student and parent.
Due to the limited rehearsal time, it is imperative that students arrive fully prepared on February 20. Directors are encouraged to work with their student(s) to support consistent progress on the music. The MOPAS Board will conduct regular check-ins with students, parents, and directors to check on progress and address any questions the students may have.
