Favorite Latin Curriculum:
Memoria Press Latin Forms series: Both charter school version and non-charter school verison.
Favorite ear training tool for teaching proper oral language usage:
Oral Language Exercises published by ABEKA (a Christain publisher; however this book is not religious at all).
Favorite Writing Curruiculum:
Thematic writing workbooks published by the Institute for Excellence in Writing. I have definite favorites: People and Places in Our Community, All Things Fun and Fascinating, Ancient History, Fables Myths and Fairy Tales - just to name a few.
Favorite book for learning to read:
I Can Read It! by Holzmann (probably out of print)
Pathway Publishers Pathway Reading Series - Kids love this series! The stories are engaging. I don't use the workbooks. I bought the entire set through Amazon.
Favorite reading books for young readers:
Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle books by Betty MacDonald. My third grade teacher read them to the class and I have loved them ever since. I even like MacDonald's autobiographical adult books, The Egg and I and The Plague and I.
Favorite classical literature for older readers:
There are too many books to list. I did read all of the books in the photo above, some more than once. Sometimes I don't like a classic the first time I read it, but enjoy it the second time. I am a big believer in annotating (writing notes in the margins of the book) whenever possible while reading.
