Grade 4: Lila Boyd, Ms. Gerner's Class

The April artists are awarded for their dedication to their projects. They spent this month experimenting, while also sticking to the project guidlines. They used inspiration from the world around them, took risks, and tried new things. They proved that "thinking outside the box" leads to wonderful results! They met their goals by staying focused and being on task during worktime and they shared their findings with their peers in quiet conversation. Congrats Ronen and Lila, you are making SES proud!

Standout Class: Ms. Lawrence's Class

The March standout class was selected for working like a team. They show their support for all their classmates and encourage each other not only in their artmaking, but all their activities, experiences, and conversations daily. Their stylized portraits are uniquely theirs. They accomplished this by pushing themselves creatively and sharing ideas with one another. Well done, Ms. Lawrence's class. Keep up the great work!

Artists of the Month: MARCH


Grade 2: Greta Bach, Ms. Bloom's Class

Grade 5: Emma Nordengaard, Ms. Driscoll's Class

The March artists are awarded for taking brave creative risks in their art making. They confidently tried new things, persevered through mistakes, and created artworks that are specially meaningful to them. They spent class time quietly engaging with friends, lending a helping hand without being asked, continuously sharing acts of kindness, respecting the studio space and their classmates, and most importantly... making art that they are excited about!! Congrats Greta and Emma, you are making SES proud. 

The March standout class was selected for working like our Friendly Fortune and Super-Star Sugar cookie characters. This month, Ms. Pratt's class worked together as kind, caring, and respectful classmates. They always helped their friends while working, and while cleaning up their space even if that meant completing an extra task. As a group they continue to make an extra effort to support each other and create a studio environment that is happy, creative, and fun! Well done, Ms. Pratt's class. Keep up the great work!

Artists of the Month: FEBRUARY

Kindergarten: Miles Harrington, Ms. Alegi's Class

Grade 4: Graham Simmons, Ms. Gerner's Class

The February artists are awarded for: 1) their focus and concentration during work time, and 2) for working to be the best teammates they can be. Throughout February, Miles and Graham have supported their classmates in many ways. They offered advice when it was needed, they made sure they weren't distracting others from getting their best work done, they were kind and made friends smile, and they helped their table with extra cleanup tasks. We are so lucky to have both of these artists on our team! Congrats Miles and Graham, you are making SES proud!

Standout Class: Ms. Howland's Class (K)

The February standout class was selected for working like our Safe Sprinkle and Outstanding Oatmeal cookie characters. This month, Ms. Howland's class worked together to carefully use tools and materials, to treat the studio space with respect, to be positive classroom leaders, and to use their best expected behaviors. Well done, Ms. Howland's class. Keep up the great work!

The January artists are awarded for the warm, kind, and helpful attitudes they bring to our collaborative art studio. They help to make our space a place that is happy and welcoming to all. They are motivated artists who show great maturity, focus, and hard work in their daily activities. Congrats Henry and Bela, you are making SES proud!

The January standout class was selected for their positivity and joy. This month, Ms. Bloom's class brought such wonderful "working artist" energy to the art room. They came into the room excited and ready to get work. Their support of one another is contagious. Well done, Ms. Bloom's class. Keep up the great work!

The December artists are awarded for their support of their classmates, their positivity, and their hard work. They are always there to lend a helping hand, they are respectful, and they show great maturity in dedicating themselves to working towards their end goal. We appreciate that they are teammates in our class. Congrats Xander and Vivian you are making SES proud!

The December standout class was selected for their teamwork and dedication towards their craft. This month, Ms. Coclin's class showed each other great support. They worked to build each other up and made sure to allow themselves the space to focus while still having fun! Well done, Ms. Coclin's class. Keep up the great work!

The November artists are first awarded for their consistent respect and care towards the art studio space, for their peers in the classroom, and for all others they interact with in our space. Second, they are recognized for taking their time on their projects and stretching their imagination. They put in the effort to make their artworks what they want them to be; they work to create pieces they are happy with and proud of. Congrats Sadie and Brighton you are making SES proud!

Standout Class: Ms. D'Alessandro's Class (Gr.5)

The November standout class was selected for their support of one another. They work together as a team to make the most of their class time. They kindly remind one another of directions and expectations so more focused and inspired artmaking can get accomplished. Well done, Ms. D'Alessandro's class. Keep up the great work!

These students bravely take risks in their artmaking; they are willing to try again and again when things don't go "right" the first time.
