Kemberly Lorin Ramer was the youngest daughter of Kenny Ramer and Sue Infinger. Her older sister, Kristin, was 18 months older than Kem. Her parents were divorced at the time of her disappearance with her father living in Opp, AL and her mother living in nearby Walton County, FL. The girls spent time with both parents as they wished. Kemberly was primarily staying with her father at the time because she was going to finish high school in Opp. She was 17 years old at the time of her disappearance and was about to begin her Senior year.

August 15, 1997 (Friday)
- Daytime: Senior Portraits
- 8:00 pm: played in city league softball game
- Went home to shower/get ready to "go out with friends"
- Went to boyfriend's house instead
- Left in time to make it home by her 11:30pm curfew (last time she was officially seen)
- 11:30 pm: Supposedly Arrives Home (nobody else there - Kenny stayed at girlfriend's house)
August 16, 1997 (Saturday)
- Early AM hours: possibly seen at a local party (not confirmed)
- 5:20 am: 3 phone calls made from home to an 850 zip code
- Morning Hours: Kenny (father) returns home to get his golf clubs. He sees her door closed and her car in the driveway. He assumes she is sleeping in or possibly already left with friends for the day. He is not alarmed at the time.
- Daytime: Kem was supposed to be selling ads or promoting a book with her friend Deidre.
- Afternoon/Evening: Kenny attempts to contact Sue (mother) to see if Kem is with her. There is no answer at her home. She attempts to call him back when she gets his message. He does not answer
August 17, 1997 (Sunday)
- AM: Kenny informs Sue that Kemberly is missing. She immediately drives to Opp.
- Friends tell them about Kem's secret boyfriend. Kenny and Sue go to his house to see if she is there. She is not. They talk to the boyfriend about Kem being missing.
- Kenny and Sue file Police Report. Opp PD go to Kenny's house to look through her room.
- All of her belongings are there, including her purse, car keys, contacts, glasses, shoes, etc.
- Some signs of a struggle are present: pictures off of the wall, pillow wedged between bed and wall
