REQUIRED COMPETITION CATEGORIES
Heart of Agriculture is designed to be a positive, age-appropriate experience for every contestant. Competition categories are structured based on age division to ensure fairness, comfort, and confidence for all participants.
INTRODUCTION
An award will be given in each age division.
Contestants will walk across the stage wearing the official Heart program t-shirt with black bottoms and shoes/accessories of their choice.
Contestants ages 0–6 will walk across the stage while the emcee reads their introduction.
Contestants ages 7 & up will introduce themselves by sharing their name, age, city/state, and one or two fun facts about themselves. Introductions must be 60 seconds or less.
This is your opportunity to make a great first impression on the judges and audience while showcasing your confidence and personality.
Remember, introduction is not about having the “perfect” speech—it’s about speaking clearly, being yourself, and letting your personality shine!
FORMALWEAR
An award will be given in each age division.
Contestants ages 0 - 3 years will wear a short pageant dress, ages 4-6 years will wear her choice of a short pageant dress or a floor-length formal gown, ages 7 & up will wear a floor-length formal gown.
Contestants will be judged on; First Impression, Overall Appearance, Confidence, Stage Presence, Personality/Poise, and Style/Grace.
Heirloom dresses, high/low dresses, and tea-length dresses are not allowed!
HEART WEAR
An award will be given in each age division.
Contestants will model their best heart wear outfit of choice! Get Creative! Have Fun! Outfit MUST have at least one heart somewhere on it (can even be an accessory)! Props are allowed but MUST be able to be carried on and off the stage by the contestant!
PHOTOGENIC
An award will be given in each age division.
Contestants will submit 1 photo at check-in. Photos MUST be 8x10" in size, with no sleeves and no frames - contestants name displayed on back of photo! Photos can be color or black/white, and do not have to be professionally done. Do not submit any photos with you in a crown and sash - these will be scored a zero!
TO COMPETE FOR THE MISS PHOTOGENIC TITLE, CONTESTANTS WILL SUBMIT 2 ADDITIONAL PHOTOS FOR AN OPTIONAL $25 ENTRY FEE.
INTERVIEW
AGES 7 & UP ONLY
Contestants ages 7 & up will participate in an individual closed interview with the panel of judges. Contestants will wear the official Heart program t-shirt with black bottoms and shoes/accessories of their choice!
This is your opportunity to impress the judges with your ability to communicate!
This is simply a "get-to-know-you" interview! The judges are not looking for rehearsed answers!
Questions will come primarily from your registration form but be prepared for anything. The judges will not ask anything political or religious unless that is something that you have added to your registration form.
