I believe that my responsibility as a teacher is to cultivate a classroom culture that allows for students to express themselves as individuals and to develop a deep appreciation for knowledge and learning. Classrooms are learning communities where each student deserves to feel safe, respected, and important. Kindness and empathy are integral values to my classroom culture. Within and beyond the four walls of the classroom I hope to teach my students to be inquisitive thinkers, thoughtful citizens, and kind humans.

In my career, I intend to be a positive and supportive force in and out of the classroom. Strong, passionate and capable educators are the facilitators of a support network between the home and the classroom, and often are the ones who establish that line of communication.

Education is about the whole student, finding the strengths, accepting their struggles, and believing in their abilities. I hope that I am fortunate enough to be part of the process of seeing children grow into more capable, empathetic, and kind versions of themselves.
