Prompt: On a scale of 1-10-with "10" being the most--how often does L.E.P. stress your family out when it comes to obtaining healthcare?
To evaluate the efficacy of our 7 days of mindfulness campaign and videos, we did a second survey asking how likely a family member with LEP was to feel more relaxed and more willing to obtain healthcare after watching our videos or other such informative videos. We did another survey after our 7 days of mindfulness campaign, asking previous participants to evaluate how less stressed out they were after consulting our videos and information in Spanish.
Our results indicated that LEP patients indeed found such short skits and posts highly effective in promoting nutritional awareness along with mental health awareness amongst the population with LEP. However, some sources of bias that may be present in our sample include Non-Response Bias, in which participants chose not to respond to the survey despite having seen it. This source of error does fails to account for the opinions of those who were not included in the sample or could not be reached via social media. As a result, multiple trials may need to follow in order to draw a correct statistical conclusion. As of now, 67% of the sample said that the 7 Days of Mindfulness Campaign have been highly effective in mitigating the deterimental effects of LEP on the mental health of teen latinos.
Looking forward, we plan to have another campaign with a higher efficacy rate and one that also takes into account the opinions of those who do not have social media.
