The Summer School will advance attendees' knowledge about cognitive and social psychological frameworks on disinformation and misinformation and about how to best combat this problem.
The program will combine keynote lectures by leading international scholars on misinformation with collaborative group work. Expert-led sessions will address major theoretical frameworks, methods and empirical findings on misinformation and disinformation, with particular attention to the effectiveness and limits of intervention strategies. Additionally, students will present their own research on the topic during poster sessions, to foster exchange of information and networking.
Students will work in groups to develop research proposals on intervention. These collaborative projects will be modeled after grant proposals, requiring groups to define specific goals, hypotheses, experimental design, measures and intended impacts. These will culminate in final presentations, followed by constructive feedback from peers and invited experts.
In addition to its scientific focus, the summer school will foster professional development and international networking, providing a collaborative and stimulating environment for early-career researchers.
*The collaborative projects among students will be prepared and guided by lecturers Fernando Blanco, Efraín García, Giannis Lois and Manuela Moreno.
