My lessons encourage you to enjoy playing, express yourself, and grow as a musician.
With over 15 years teaching experience, I prioritise being a friendly, patient and enthusiastic teacher.
Learning an instrument takes time —there are no hacks or cheat codes.
I focus on building your passion for the instrument, while giving you the tools and structure to keep progressing over time.
I’ve helped many students through the early hurdles—sore fingers, fret buzz, tricky hand positions etc — with patience and encouragement.
We set clear goals based on the styles you want to play
I’ll ask for your favourite songs and inspirations to use as material to guide you through the early stages of guitar or bass.
Learn chords, strumming patterns, fingerpicking, scales, beginner riffs and solos.
After 10 lessons aim to be able play along to most popular songs
I specialise in helping intermediate players deepen their musicianship and instrumental skills.
I encourage a multi-instrumental approach in my teaching— using the keyboard to help visualising harmony, drumming to help embody rhythm and singing to help internalise melody.

"Mischa is a brilliant, creative and caring teacher. Since taking lessons with him I have been able to play melodies in different keys up and down the neck. He has written tailored lessons to different styles I was interested in. He also makes sure he provides materials that are suited to your learning style. Short videos, artistic diagrams or written notes. I wanted to be taught in the same way you might teach children. Dog step; elephant step. I couldn't recommend Mischa more"
