¿Sometimes prayer is relegated so that those who profess some religion, practically in the day-to-day of their lives.
In a very particular way in times of tribulation practically all of us in some way, we turn our being, to some religious belief, in which we have had a relationship, whether by family education or some social influence.
And it is precisely in these difficult times that prayer becomes essential.
What is prayer? according to the dictionary definition, "prayer is the set of statements with which believers address God, a divinity, a saint, angels, etc. Especially in the one with a fixed shape defined and established."
Do you wonder if God hears your prayers? Or maybe the virgin can listen to my prayers? For some of the most significant support in their souls under challenging times, it may be to resort to useful help, do angels hear my prayer?
In situations of pain and hopelessness, it is such, the anguish that we do not even remember the basic teachings we saw at some point in the Bible, but the Anxiety clouds our minds.
Consternetion invades us, and in the moments when we have not strengthened faith when faith wobbles, how can we pray to God?
Strength in times of crisis and storms is in your heart.
Quoting the sacred Bible, "Ye shall invoke me, and I will hear" (JER 29:12)
One of the greatest prophets in the history of the human being "Jesus" taught that God responds to every sincere request. But of course, anyone skeptical leaves these words in doubt, or they can even go so far as to mock.
But remember that "Jesus" himself said" "If you believe, you will receive everything you ask in prayer (Matthew 21:22). If we had more connection with our hearts and with God, we would trust absolutely in this promise.
Without a doubt, trust is one of the most critical aspects of prayer, and it is something that goes far beyond just "being positive."
It is precisely faith, which plays a significant role; the communion between worship and prayer will guide your steps in your difficult times. But it is also vital that you do not put your will above God.
Do an act of surrender. "Lord thy will be done and not mine" (Luke 22:42) proof of saying it aloud; this will clear your mind and make your way.
Sometimes we are so obsessed with a situation or problem, that we do not see the whole image,
we must know, the universe is full of infinite possibilities, and this act of surrender, and this act of surrender, and this act of surrender, will show you the plans that God and the universe have for you.
If you do not know how to begin to pray, ask for the intermediation of Jesus to guide you in your words and actions.
And I tell you this because if prayer is not within your daily habits, being in the middle of a dead-end situation does not allow us to think clearly.
The Jewish philosopher Martin Buber says that when we pray, we do it by voice in the neck as if we were hanging from an escarped by our hair, during a storm so violent that we probably have a few seconds left to be saved. Buber continues: "And indeed, there is no counsel, no refuge, no peace for anyone except if we raise our eyes and heart toward God and cry out to Him. We should do it at all times because, in this world, we are in great danger."
These words resonate a lot in these chaotic times, where fear prevails, and panic can take hold of us, in the face of all the external situations that happen, and we all look fragile without knowing what to do.
Without the practice of prayer, we lose the strength of character and succumb easily to what sociologists call the gregarious instinct: we become easy prey to the fear of what they will say, of ambition, and of the desire to please others.
Without prayer, the constant rubbing with the people around us, and their opinions gradually floods our inner lives until they drown it completely.
We think we are autonomous, free, and independent, who own our destiny, but we are victims of all information that externally and we are not able to think for ourselves.
Once we lose our relationship with God, life consists merely, according to Nietzsche, in "continuous adjustments to various social demands and collective influences."
It is precisely that prayer becomes a weapon against all the attacks we suffer from the outside.
Prayer then becomes a defense against all the aggressions of the external environment; it is a protection that inhabits the warmth of our hearts, the oasis necessary in times of crisis.
The Swiss theologian Karl Barth wrote a specific time that, when we put our hands together in prayer, we began an uprising against the world's disorder.
Jesus teaches us by whom we should intercede. How amazing are your instructions, and your example! He says to us, "Pray for those who outrage and persecute them" (Matthew 5:44). We must pray for our enemies and ask God to lead them to Christ and, for Him, to forgive them.
That is why I advise you if fear does not allow trust, the first thing you must do before resorting to prayer.
The first thing you must raise the level of your energy is not to let yourself be oppressed by the evil of the situation, let alone allow others and their misdeeds to lead you to hatred, anger, or resentment.
To raise your energy, and calm the anguish of your heart, do something that you like something that makes you feel the opposite, for example, if you take a walk in the park and connect with the trees do it, if you like some good music, then listen to the music that makes you happy.
But what does this have to do with prayer?, it has to do a lot, because you must pray from your heart, from the purest feeling, harmonize your thoughts this I tell you since a study of the University of Ohio Dr. John Cacioppo.
"The brain reacts more strongly to stimuli it considers negative. There was a greater increase in electrical activity. Therefore, our attitudes are more influenced by braised news than by good news."
If you want to know more, I leave the link here to see how everything is related to prayer.
This is why some claim that "your mind can often be your greatest enemy."
There are currently several scientific studies on how a prayer performed correctly can change your reality, modify your DNA, and lead miracles to happen.
I will share from my heart with you something that I call a miracle
Last December, 2019, my mother suffered a stroke. The first reaction we saw was that she went speechless and did not react to external stimuli. We immediately called the emergency, and an ambulance moved her to the hospital.
Upon arriving at the hospital, the doctors left her under observation, while she was making all the necessary medical examinations, the first diagnosis did not seem so dangerous.
But after being hospitalized for five days, her worsening state, it was a few days of infinite anguish, she slept in no sleep, looking after her in the hospital, and we feared the worst.
The sadness had taken hold of me, and my sister, the most heartbreaking thing was to see her physical deterioration, it was reduced almost to the bone.
After having been hospitalized for eight days, she suffered a cardiorespiratory arrest and had to do cardiac resuscitation, just the night that tiredness beat us. We were trying to rest something at home.
That night we were called from the hospital. It was the doctor who spoke directly to us, brought us to the attention of my mother's delicate state of health, he said precisely "They should come to see her so that they have time to say goodbye to her, I do not think she will come to tomorrow."
That night, the road to the hospital was the longest I've ever done. Arriving in the intensive care unit, we were allowed to see her for a few moments it was heartbreaking to see her like this, bedridden in that hospital bed, reduced to nothing.
The night was long; we stayed in the waiting room, expecting the worst.
It was then that I don't know how I closed my eyes and focused on doing some breathing exercises. When I was more focused, I began to pray, I continued with my eyes closed, and I sought to silence and calm deep into my heart.
I asked God to give us strength in those moments that if her will were for my mother to leave, she would do it without pain, in peace, and to provide us with the acceptance and strength to assume all that would come.
Continue in silence, focused on my prayers, at any given moment, I had my hands in my heart, and that's when the meaning of my prayer changes.
It was like divine inspiration, well at least that I felt at the time, instead of asking for anything in particular or asking with resignation, I began to say thank you, sir we are beautiful, we will be fine, Thank you Lord for the health of my mother
I kept saying like a mantra repeatedly: "Thank you, Lord, we're fine, we'll be fine" I felt all this in my heart, letting that feeling completely invade me.
I don't count hours passed, when I opened my eyes it was 2:30 am, as we didn't hear from the doctor, a nurse came out, and she advised us, that we go to rest at home, my mom was still the same, well that's when the doctors tell you "she's stable."
The next day, things hadn't changed much, when we went back to the hospital, to see her, we took turns between my sister and me to take care of her during visiting hours because being in intensive care unit we could only be with her a couple of hours in the morning
That weekend was long and exhausting, yet I continue to pray, "Lord, we're fine, everything's going to be okay."
Even though the doctors said they didn't think my mother was going to make it to the end of the year, I didn't lose hope.
The beginning of the miracle was for Monday; at about 6:30 are we called the nurse who needed us to bring her a change of pajamas for my mother since she was much better. They would pass it to a room, the danger had already passed, and she didn't need to be in the intensive care unit.
We spent another ten days in the hospital, my mom was speechless, I couldn't consume food, everything was by tube, or liquid foods, the motor part had to be very helpful.
Despite all the wrong diagnoses, my mother was recovering; in a few more days, they didn't discharge.
While doctors explained that recovery would be prolonged, it could be more than a year before she spoke or walk alone again.
But miracles have been continuous; in these six months, it has been miracle after miracle.
By three months, she was walking, unaided, and could eat on her own.
Today six months later, from the different therapies, I look at my mother, and I see in her the greatness of a miracle. She's talking; she walks, worth it for all her stuff, seeing her laugh the best gift I can have right now.
I tell you my story that I share from my heart, and it is a way to thank God and attest to this testimony that miracles are possible.
