Teaching and mentorship---at multiple levels---is a vital part of my professional practice.
At Boston College, I served as
an instructor of record for MATH 1180: Principles of Statistics for the Health Sciences (Spring 2026)
a teaching assistant for
Gateway Math/Chem Accelerator Program (Summer 2025)
MATH 3312: Algebra II (Spring 2023)
MATH 2202: Multivariable Calculus (Fall 2022, Spring 2022)
MATH 1100: Calculus I (Fall 2021)
I have also supported undergraduate research at Boston College as a
a co-teacher with Mark Reeder for an undergraduate seminar on representation theory (Fall 2026)
DRP mentor for two students on surface topology and Morse theory (Spring 2026); syllabus
ExpMMLL mentor for one student on braid group representations (Spring 2025)
My practice is reflective and always updating: This fall, I am completing a teaching development program through the Center of Teaching Excellence at Boston College: the Foundations of Teaching Program. In the spring, I plan to earn their Certificate in College Teaching.
It is informed by multiple modalities: I was junior faculty at the Bridge to Entering Advanced Mathematics (BEAM) Summer Away Program in the summer of 2025. There, I gained valuable teaching and social work experience that I continue to apply in my current teaching. Building partly off of what I learned at BEAM and for personally meaningful reasons, I hope to explore more trauma-informed practices relevant to college education.
