Graduate Research Opportunities
We are always looking for well qualified Undergrad, MS and PhD students with background in circuits and microelectronics to join our group.
Primary research area will be either Power Management Integrated Circuits (PMIC) or Power Electronics. Both areas require rigorous hardware works which consume long hours in laboratory environment with failed and successful experiments.
Prior hardware experience with power converters and/or integrated circuits is mandatory. Experience with microcontrollers, PCB design and/or IC design tools will be appreciated.
The students will need to research on power electronics hardware development for data centers, motor drives, future homes, renewable energy, mobile devices, robots, electric vehicles, wireless power, biomedical implants, automotive and space applications.
Prospective PhD students: You are recommended to apply directly to the PhD program of UMN ECE. You may mention my name in the statement of purpose (SOP). Details of the application process can be found here. Note that, the recruitment will be competitive and only be done after considering all the applications.
Do not mail/apply if you do not have experience of working on hardware at any level and/or you do not wish to do hardware research works.
