I have moved to the Twin Cities Area and officially joined the ECE department of University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. Hopefully, this is going to be the end of my nomadic life.

We had an amazing time at ECCE 2024 held in Phoenix, Arizona.
We have an ISSCC paper accepted! Our hard work since 2020 has been really paid off by Hieu's paper titled "A 74W/48V Monolithic-GaN Integrated Adjustable Multilevel Supply Modulator for 5G Base Station Massive MIMO Arrays ". This was a collaboration among my former research group ipower3Es at UCSD, my current company EPC Corporation and Samsung Research America. Proud to be part of the team!

Very exciting news! I have accepted an offer from the ECE department of University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. I am going to start as a tenure-track Assistant Professor from Spring'2025.

I started a position in the IC Design team of the Efficient Power Conversion Corporation.
I attended IEEE COMPEL 2023 at the University of Michigan Ann Arbor and presented my works about small signal modeling of our multi-inductor hybrid converter family. These are theoretical works mostly done around the locked-down period of 2020-2021 during the Covid-19 pandemic.

I received an Outstanding Presentation Award for my presentation of the paper: “Multi-Inductor Multi-Output Hybrid (MiMoH) Converter for Large Conversion Ratio and Multiple Outputs” at APEC 2023. Hieu's presentation of his paper: “Adjustable 4-Level Hybrid Converter for Symbol Power Tracking in 5G New Radio” is also received well among the attendants.
I chaired a technical session, "T10 - Power Quality & Grid Interface" and an industry session, "IS20 - Packaging and Thermal Management" at APEC 2023.
I represented the iPower3Es group at the PMIC Booth of APEC 2023 Expo.

We had very successful presentations, demos, great interactions with industry and academic communities, and a great time at ISSCC 2023. Although I had no any papers, I worked closely on the projects with experiments. Seeing my colleagues' ideas being well-recognized in the SSCS community was nice.

I presented two posters on the multi-output converter and the motor driver project at the December 2022 Industry Advisory Board Meeting of the PMIC center.

I presented a poster on the multi-output converter project in 2022 Beyond 5G - Toward 6G Forum of UCSD's Center for Wireless Communications.
I accepted a Post-doc position with my current supervisor Professor Hanh-Phuc Le.
I have defended my thesis and EARNED my Ph. D., first from our group.

iPower3Es group receives support from the PMIC center to develop a new power delivery and management architecture for next-generation electric motors. This is one of the projects I kickstarted from the beginning with ideas and implementation. I helped Prof. Hanh-Phuc Le with the proposal as well.
I published a general yet intuitive analysis to understand and predict the voltage imbalance behavior of flying capacitors in hybrid converters in his paper “Analysis of Capacitor Voltage Imbalance in Hybrid Converters and Inherently Balanced Operation Using Symmetric Architecture” in the IEEE Journal of Emerging and Selected Topics in Industrial Electronics.

I published his paper “Gate Driver Circuits With Discrete Components For A GaN-based Multi-Level Multi Inductor Hybrid Converter” in the IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, one of the highest impact factor IEEE journals.

Our group receives funding from the Power Management Integration Center for the multioutput converter project I am working on. This is one of my brainchildren seeing the face of successful funding. The next 1-1.5 years will be fun.
