Testing for the next rank is a privilege that is earned by the student shown by their attitude and skill progression. Students progress at their own pace with the goal of a successful promotion.
Promotion tests typically occur during class and cover belt specific material, pattern, and board breaking. If a student does not pass any portion of the test, they practice during the next class period and re-test on the specific item the following class. Sometimes nerves play a part in the testing process and students forget items learned in class. The goal of the test is commitment to themselves on a successful promotion and the mindset to never give up if they need to retest on a portion of their test.
Before a student tests, please fill out the Testing Form here.
