What is Fashion?

Fashion. What is it really? There are thousands of stores and companies. Millions of pieces of clothing. Different styles, aesthetics, and colors. I think, personally, that fashion can be anything you want it to be. Like art, it is up to interpretation. Everybody likes something different, no one’s style is exactly the same. That’s why I love fashion so much; everyone can express themselves the way they want. Some people it’s suits, skirts, and dresses; other people it’s sweatpants, t-shirts and sandals. It’s anything you want it to be.

It wasn’t always this way however. All throughout history until modern days people were expected to dress and look a certain way. Fashion has evolved so much throughout history and played a role in advancing human kind. Women wearing pants for example, was a big step towards equality for men and women. As well as shortening hemlines and showing more skin. Now, you can dress however you want whenever you want.

There are different types of fashion; high-end fashion which includes luxury expensive brands, and low-end fashion which is affordable fast fashion. Luxury fashion began in 1858 in London, and has rapidly spread throughout the world into many different companies. They release custom made clothes, luxury purses, and expensive jewelry. Their prices can go up to thousands of dollars. Low-end fashion are the stores that are seen at your local mall that have affordable prices. They usually have the latest trends right when they come into fashion. Low-end fashion is the most popular with young adults and teenagers.

In this blog I’ll continue to explore brands, trends, styles, ect. I’m so pumped to start trying new things and get out of my comfort zone. Some things I will be exploring are: fast fashion, cheapest websites, monochromatic looks, and other trends. I love fashion and want to help inspire other people through my passion. On this blog I have a lookbook tab that will feature all the outfits and trends that I will try and also other pictures that I find inspiring. See you in the next post!
