Noor serves as the Co-Chair of the LES USA & Canada Brands as a Business Sector, Vice-Chair of the LESI Sustainable Development Goals IP Index Committee, and incoming LESI YMC Pan-America Vice-Chair. At Ocean Tomo, Noor is a Senior Director in the IP Valuation and Management Consulting practice where he focuses on the valuation and monetization of intellectual property including patents, technology, brands, data, and other forms of intangible assets. Noor’s experience includes valuation, strategy, and transaction advisory assistance to companies, investors, and governments in a variety of industries including life sciences, energy and climate tech, sustainable materials and production, software, and retail, among others. Noor’s analyses have been used to support investment decisions, capital raises, IP monetization, M&A, bankruptcy & restructuring, IP licensing, JV formation, litigation, and tax matters.
Marco M. Alemán, studied law at the Javeriana University (J.D., 1991) where he also obtained a Corporate Law Certificate (L.L.M., 1996). He then obtained a Diploma in Advanced Studies (DEA) in Research at the Alcala University (Spain, 2006), and a Ph.D. in Law (2011, Cum Laude).
Mr. Alemán practiced as an IP Attorney from 1991 to 1995. He was then appointed Head of the Colombian Industrial Property Office, from 1995 to 1998, and was invited as a Fellow Visiting Researcher at the Max Planck Institute in Munich, Germany in 1998. He joined WIPO in 1999 as Senior Program Officer, Office of Cooperation for Development for Latin America and the Caribbean (from 1999 to 2006). He was then appointed Deputy Director in the Division for Public Policy and Development (from 2006 to 2009), Deputy Director of the Patent Law Division (from 2009 to 2013), and went on to be Director of the Patent Law Division (2013 – 2020). He currently holds the position of Assistant Director General, leading the IP and Innovation Ecosystems Sector (IES).

Mr. Benites previously served as Legal Coordinator of the Intellectual Property Chamber at INDECOPI, the Peruvian authority on intellectual property. He currently works as an international official responsible for intellectual property matters at the General Secretariat of the Andean Community. In addition, he is a professor of Intellectual Property at ESAN University, San Martín de Porres University, and Cayetano Heredia University, all located in Lima, Peru. He also serves as director and professor of the Advanced Specialization Program in Intellectual Property at the Andean University Simón Bolívar (central campus – Bolivia), as well as Tutor of the course Intellectual Property Law of the Andean Community at the WIPO Academy.
Since 2023, Jennifer Chicoski has served as the IP Attaché for the Andean Community and Chile of the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and is based in Lima, Peru. Ms. Chicoski advocates for United States’ intellectual property (IP) policy interests and supports U.S. businesses in protecting and enforcing their IP rights in the region. She has extensive experience as an IP attorney, with 26 years of service inside the USPTO in a variety of positions within the Trademark Organization and the Office of Policy and International Affairs. She has actively participated in the implementation of trademark classification and examination policies and procedures and advised on domestic policy-making and international affairs. She attended Georgetown University to receive her bachelor’s in business administration and the Georgetown University Law Center for her juris doctorate degree.

Juan Pablo has been a partner at Sargent & Krahn since 2000 and joined the firm in 1992. Since 2000, he has headed the Patent Group, leading—together with the group’s attorneys and technical professionals—the representation of domestic and international clients in the prosecution of patent applications across a wide range of technical fields, with particular emphasis on the pharmaceutical, mining, and salmon farming industries.

Dr. Viviane Kunisawa is a PARTNER at Danieal Law and Head of the Patent Litigation and Regulatory Law for Life Sciences & Agribusiness Groups. She has extensive experience in strategic litigation, consultancy, and advocacy initiatives, with more than two decades of experience in high-risk patent litigation, focusing on complex multijurisdictional disputes. Having worked on cases related to patent infringement and invalidity, as well as unfair competition projects, she leverages her expertise in regulatory law to protect the clients' interests. Some of her representative cases have been in pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, biotechnology, and engineering sectors, including telecommunications. She has vast experience with advocacy projects, from drafting bills and regulatory norms to preparing legal opinions and white papers. Viviane’s experience as an in-house counsel for a multinational company in the agribusiness sector allowed her to combine legal skills with business acumen.
