By sharing good practices in adult education, the manual offers actionable insights for local authorities to foster sustainable communities. It emphasises the importance of forward-looking approaches, involving citizens, businesses, and organizations in initiatives that support the EU's climate goals. The manual provides a framework to develop effective strategies focusing on adult education for climate change mitigation, environmental protection, and carbon neutrality. Ultimately, the goal is to equip local authorities with the knowledge and tools to drive positive change and lead their communities towards a sustainable future, fostering active citizen participation. DISSEMINATION VIDEOS: MTM TEASER & TESTIMONIAL VIDEO

Three videos were developed for dissemination purposes. The first served as a motion design teaser to generate interest in the project results and direct potential users to access the developed material

The second and the third videos provided a general overview of the project MIND THE MISSIONS! Erasmus + project as introductory instructional material, and some partners’ testimonials regarding their experience in the project. They explained the methodology used in each of the three workshops to create the toolkit and considered the impact of the tool among the beneficiaries of the project, namely the municipalities of Amarante and Valencia.

TOOLKIT

FUTURE-PROOFING, GEODESIGN AND PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND DESIGN TOOLS

The Mind the Missions toolkit offers a structured and inclusive process for addressing complex sustainability issues in a collaborative way. When used together, the tools enable the connection of long-term strategy development with consensus building for the future of a particular territory, establishing the basis to develop fit-for-purpose projects.

The toolkit is composed of 3 tools: future-proofing, geodesign and project management and design. It empowers cities to bolster their training initiatives, fostering Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities Mission.

Refer to our guides for instructions on how to use each of these three tools effectively.

CAPSTONE PROJECTS

Two Capstone Projects were generated ready for implementation and financing. Valencia municipality crafted a Capstone Project focusing on MUNICIPAL URBAN GARDEN, a tool for education on Valencian agricultural culture, while Amarante municipality formulated a Capstone Project centred on SUSTAINABLE ENERGY COMMUNITIES.

For the purposes of the Mind the Missions project, the capstone projects took the form of a grant proposal project, involving the lessons learned during the project’s activities and keeping the Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities Mission in mind.

Here you can consult an abridged version of the capstone projects developed by the participants of the municipality of Valencia and the municipality of Amarante. The decision not to include the full projects is based on their nature as internal strategic documents, intended to serve as stepping stones for potential future funding opportunities pursued by the municipalities.

CRITICAL ASSESSMENT & LAYMAN'S REPORT

We present the critical assessment of the project, reflecting on the lessons learned throughout the toolkit development, capacity-building workshops, and collaboration activities. This assessment includes testimonials from all organisations involved in the project

By bringing together diverse voices and fostering reciprocal learning, it empowers municipalities and their communities to design a more sustainable future. We hope that many municipalities will engage with the tool, learn from their use, and become forward-looking hubs, actively promoting life-long learning as active agents of our shared missions.

Please consult the critical assessment regarding and find out why should municipalities use the Mind the Missions’ toolkit to engage citizens and stakeholders.
