As I child I love these movies. I used to watch these films back to back. The musical aspect is so great and creative. (The score is nice as well) The characters are so well written- well maybe I am a little basis. This movie is also really funny. I can't say much about this film due to the fact it was a children's movie and doesn't cover any dark themes. You can say Charlie goes through a bit of depression. He makes choices irrationally without thinking about his friend (itchy) or anyone else.
SMiley, one of my favorite characters throughout the film though I started to dislike him towards the end with the riot and everything. ( IT felt like he was being used). He usually is trying to sell a photo of Malcolm x and Mlk together.
MLK beliefs were to be equal; to be the same because we are the same. To not give in to our “violent” nature, to be better to be like them . Malcolm X’s beliefs were too “violent”, but we are different, and to use our differences to an advantage- to build yourself up and not everyone else around us. They both had the same goal and that was to be treated the same, they just had both viewed it a different way. The photograph shows that two different beliefs can still make us the same. We don’t have to believe in the same things to get along. We just have to come to a mutual understanding
Do The Right Thing takes place within a day. The hottest day of the summer. Simmering with racial tensions in the 60s-70s. I watched this movie in my film class. A lot of what I had to say is because of my film class (Direct quote from me). This masterpiece of a movie and unique camera angles impressed me. How realistic this 24 hour movie is and the dialogue is so authentic. This movie feels like home despite not being born from this decade.

Mookie works at sal's pizza in a black neighbourhood. Mookie's friend, Buggin' out, becomes upset due to the fact Sal's pizza didn't have any black people on the wall even though mostly all blacks eat here. Buggin' out starts a riot and it ends up tragic.

"DO the right thing." There is no such thing as the "right" thing.
The boycott was a trivial matter and ended up tragic. No one wanted to boycott Sal until he “fought “Radio Raheem. Everyone kind of bangs on the idea when they see the “common enemy” How it wasn’t anyone’s fault but pride. Yes, everyone can get along in a diverse neighborhood, it can take years, but it's all pride, and how proud everyone is. Because everyone is so different they fail to see what they have in common. They still have flaws in them instead of what makes them good. They are jealous of each other in different ways. I think Mookie did the right thing, this issue was going to come up again. With the same or different people. He didn’t throw it because he was racist, he threw it, because it was either going to be nowhere or everywhere
The police standing over him shows power because of the angle (low shot) the police seems bigger than Raheem. This scene shows a balance of power, and how uneven the scale is. We have Raheem face show a sign of defeat. His eyes show of letting go. His eyebrows is not tense, (Obviously because he is dead). The police is looking down on him, showing his power again. Raheem has his knuckle armor facing love and not hate. Due to the fact that all he wanted to do was love. He doesn’t hate Sal, or the police. This reinforces Raheem’s character towards his death. Even through Raheem wasn’t a verbally expressed character, he shows how he feels through his actions. Raheem’s love and hate- tells the story of good and evil. This goes back to the title of the movie of Do The Right Thing. The struggle between to embrace love or hate in the terms of fighting back. Raheem in the end chose to love thy enemy; to embrace smouldering arms, and compel to love since that is the last thing to do. The Right Thing to Do.
For the time this movie was created I had such a high expectation.
The first movie; The incredible Journey, our three characters, sasha, chance, and shadow. Their family forgot them at home when they were going on a family vacation. The three of them make this adventure to follow the plane/their family to their new home through the forest. The next movie is when
