There Is A Difference: Views of the Traditional Fashions of East Asia

This research explores the differences and similarities between the traditional clothing of China, Japan, Korea, and Vietnam. My research goes in depth and discuss the history of each country's traditional clothing, as well as the influences and influences that each country has had on the other.

Many in the United States continue to have a skewed and stereotypical view of East Asian cultures, and cannot differentiate between what is Chinese, what is Japanese, what is Korean, or any other cultural heritages in the Sinosphere. This research aims to go in-depth with the influence dynastic China had on surrounding countries' culture while also being able to detail the diversity and differences in these cultures from a fashion standpoint.
