I joined for a Ph.D. at the CSIR- National Chemical Laboratory, Pune in August 2020 under the supervision of Dr. Chiranjit Chowdhury. Our research work focuses on Bacterial Microcompartments in Salmonella Typhimurium.
My lab group at the Biochemical Sciences Division of CSIR-NCL, Pune.
During my master's program, I was motivated to join the national-level research institutes by our mentor and professor Dr. Rajendra Deopurkar. With this goal in mind, I started preparing for competitive exams and qualified for those.
My research topic of my interest is antimicrobial resistance. I got an opportunity to work with Dr. Chiranjit Chowdhury, Senior Scientist at the CSIR-NCL. My thesis focuses on ethanolamine utilizing microcompartment in Salmonella Typhimurium. I love working with bacteria and performing microbiology-related experiments. I contribute scientific articles written by me and scientific images captured during experiments to Scilogy magazine which is published annually in my institute. I have been the lab safety coordinator student representative for the last five years in my research group.
Participated in the 3MT Thesis competition organized by NCL Research Foundation Students Conference 2023.
Presented my research work in the 3 Minute Thesis Competition organized by Team AVEKSHAN during the One Week One Lab event held at CSIR- National Chemical Laboratory from 22-27 May 2023. It was an amazing experience and tricky to explain our research work using limited and simple terms.
An article written by me got published in the magazine titled Tech-Tonic presented by NCL SCILOGY. The article is titled "An Invisible yet invincible world". Also, the photograph submitted alongwith the article has been selected as the cover photo of the magazine.
NCL SCILOGY is an activity by the student for the students to enhance the skills of students doing research at NCL in every aspect. This includes communication and writing skills, leadership qualities, and teamwork. With this goal in mind, this activity has been supported by many scientists and students from NCL. With everyone's efforts, students like me got an opportunity to submit their contributions to this magazine.
