What is Unarmed Drill (UDT)?
The Unarmed Drill Team (UDT) is an NJROTC team that focuses on military drill without the use of rifles. Cadets develop discipline, teamwork, leadership, confidence, and attention to detail while performing synchronized marching movements and drill commands. UDT represents the unit at competitions, ceremonies, parades, and community events, demonstrating professionalism and military bearing through precision and coordination.
UB (Unarmed Basic)
Unarmed Regulation follows standardized military drill procedures and commands. Cadets execute a prescribed sequence of marching movements, facing movements, and formations with strict attention to timing, precision, and uniformity. Teams are judged on synchronization, command execution, military bearing, appearance, and overall accuracy, making discipline and teamwork essential for success.
UX (Unarmed Exhibition)
Unarmed Exhibition allows cadets to showcase creativity through original, choreographed drill routines performed without rifles. Teams combine synchronized marching, intricate formations, sharp arm movements, stomps, claps, and fast-paced transitions to create an engaging performance while maintaining military professionalism. Judges evaluate routines based on precision, creativity, synchronization, difficulty, military bearing, and overall presentation.
