What is Armed Drill (ADT)?

Armed Drill Team (ADT) is one of the competitive teams in NJROTC. Cadets perform synchronized military drill using rifles, demonstrating discipline, teamwork, leadership, military bearing, and precision. Known as the flashiest drill team, it is mostly utilized in school events and competitions.

AB (Armed Basic)

Regulation drill follows standardized military drill procedures and the manual of arms. Cadets execute a required sequence of commands with precise timing, sharp movements, and perfect synchronization while marching and performing rifle movements. Teams are judged on accuracy, command voice, uniformity, military bearing, and overall precision. Success depends on discipline, attention to detail, and teamwork.

AX (Armed Exhibition)

Exhibition drill is a creative performance that allows cadets to showcase advanced rifle-handling skills through choreographed routines. While maintaining military professionalism, teams perform synchronized spins, tosses, exchanges, and other visually impressive movements designed to demonstrate creativity, coordination, and precision. Unlike regulation drill, exhibition routines are not limited to a prescribed drill sequence, allowing each team to develop its own unique performance for competitions and special events.
