Miles for Smiles

Marquette School of Dentistry Cleft Lip & Palate Club

Our mission is to provide resources and support to patients with cleft lip and palate conditions through fundraising, volunteering, and community outreach. Through our annual 5k race and other fundraising efforts, we help sponsor surgeries and care for families in our local Milwaukee community. Through our volunteer and outreach programs, we aim to increase awareness, connect students with opportunities to serve those affected in our community, and promote access to comprehensive cleft care.

Our Impact

Our inaugural Miles for Smiles Dental Dash 5k! A huge thank you to all of our sponsors and to the over 250 people who came to volunteer and participate in the race🩵

Together, we raised over $7,000 that will all go directly to supporting cleft lip/palate patients and sponsoring their care! Our partners at Children's Wisconsin Hospital have connected us with a patient who has undergone most of his cleft treatment and now requires restorative dental work for a missing front tooth. We were able to get him enrolled as a patient at Marquette University School of Dentistry and the funds we raised will completely cover his cleft-related restorative dental care!
