Milan PhD Economics Workshop

Monday, 16th of September 2024
University of Milano-Bicocca

Organized by students of Bocconi University, Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Politecnico di Milano,  University of Milan, University of Milan-Bicocca and University of Pavia.

Student-led PhD workshop for all fields of economics

The primary goal of the Milan PhD Economics Workshop is for doctoral students in Milan to meet and engage with their fellow peers and faculty across the different universities, and to present and discuss their research.

The 2024 workshop will be held at the University of Milan-Bicocca, following the success of the 2023 inaugural workshop at the University of Milan.

This year we are proud to announce that Mishel Ghassibe will deliver an in-person keynote presentation. He will cover his latest research as well as share his advice and experience navigating the economics job market. This is a fantastic opportunity for PhD students to interact with Mishel, who is one of the most prominent young economists in Europe.

The organizers hope to create an environment of collaboration, networking and friendship, and to give aspiring researchers a key opportunity to improve their presentation skills and receive feedback on their research.

Eligibility and call for applications

All PhD students from Bocconi University, Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, Politecnico di Milano, University of Milan, University of Milan-Bicocca and University of Pavia are invited to submit an abstract and/or draft working paper -- a complete draft working paper is not required. The student committee invites submissions across all fields of economics as well as accounting, finance and management. We also welcome submissions that are both theoretical and/or empirical.
