The primary goal of the Milan PhD Economics Workshop is for doctoral students in Milan and Lombardy to meet and engage with their fellow peers and faculty across the different universities, and to present and discuss their research.
We prioritize applications from graduate students and researchers from Milan and Lombardy.
The 2025 workshop will be held at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (Cattolica), following the success of the 2023 and 2024 workshops.
The organizers hope to create an environment of collaboration, networking and friendship, and to give aspiring researchers a key opportunity to improve their presentation skills and receive feedback on their research.
All PhD students from Bocconi University, Cattolica, Politecnico di Milano, University of Milan, University of Milan-Bicocca, University of Pavia and other universities in the Lombardy region are invited to submit an extended abstract and/or draft working paper.
The student committee invites submissions across all fields of economics as well as finance. We also welcome submissions that are both theoretical and/or empirical.
Students whose submissions are accepted should aim for a 30 minute presentation including questions. Prior to the workshop, you will be asked to submit a set of slides to use for the presentation.
The call for submissions is closed.
Contact us at milanphdecon@gmail.com in case of doubts or related questions.
Students (either from the partner universities or not) who are interested in just attending the workshop (not to present), should fill in the attendance form below to assist the organising committee with catering and venue preparation.
Note: If you have filled out the submission form, then please do not fill out the attendance form. Attendance forms should be submitted before the deadline that will be provided once the Call for Papers is published.
