I am a professor in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Houston (UH), and serve as the director of Masters of Science in Statistics and Data Science program at UH.
Before joining UH in 2020, I was an assistant (2005-2012), associate (2012-2018), and full (2018-2020) professor in the Department of Statistics at Texas A&M University.
I received a BS in Statistics from Seoul National University in 1999 and a PhD in Statistics from the University of Chicago in 2005.
I am an elected fellow of the American Statistical Association (ASA) and an elected member of the International Statistics Institute (ISI).
