Dr. Mikyoung Jun
Professor of Mathematics &
ConocoPhillips Data Science Professor
Department of Mathematics
University of Houston
I am a Full Professor (with Tenure) in the Department of Mathematics at University of Houston. I am also the program director and faculty advisor of Master of Science in Statistics and Data Science (MSDS) at University of Houston (effective 7/1/2022).
Prior to joining University of Houston in 2020, I was an Assistant (2005-2012), Associate (2012-2018), and Full Professor (2018-2020) in the Department of Statistics at Texas A&M University.
I received a BS in Statistics from Seoul National University (SNU), South Korea, in 1999, was in the MS program in Statistics at SNU during 1999-2000, and obtained a PhD in Statistics from University of Chicago in 2005 (advisor: Michael L. Stein).
