Hello! My name is Mikaela Drakeford. I am a 22-year-old post-bachelors student currently attending CCBC.
My hobbies include drawing and painting, playing video games, watching tv shows/movies/anime, playing D&D, and listening to a lot of music!
This E-portfolio was made both for my CSIT 101 class and also for my next steps of having a website that allows me to network and show my talents and skills!
Below are just some additional fun facts and important information about me :)
I graduated from the University of Maryland in 2024 with a degree in Art History and Archaeology with a minor in GIS!
I have 2 cats! One of them (pictured above) is named Bijou! He is 11 years old and still looks like a round baby sometimes :)
I love drawing, doodling, painting, crafting etc! Here is me as a marketable plushie!
My final reflections on my CSIT class and semester....
My first ever spring semester at CCBC was filled with many ups and downs. Through the hecticness of hard classes and studying hard, I found my CSIT a reprieve from my other classes. I found the work and assignments in this class enjoyable, I found a connection with peers, I learned new things regarding technology I use practically every day, and I felt excited at learning new technology I could use in the future. The moment I started this e-portfolio, I was ecstatic that I was given a new way to express myself (while also following rubrics), and I'm VERY glad that this project was included within the class. Now I can leave this semester with new skills that I will use in both my professional and academic life, while also using sites like Google Sites to broaden my online presence as a hobby artist!
My favorite project thus far was the virtual computer build. When I saw that we needed to create a PC build, I almost jumped out of my seat! It was a PERFECT opportunity to actually sit down and build a PC, as that was what I had been planning to save up for this year. It also allowed me to buy my first part using PC part picker, which I hadn't known was a site I could use before taking this class! My ending takeaway: CSIT is a class that I'm glad is a requirement for CCBC students, whether in their very first semester or their last. This class was informative and intriguing all at the start, which made me remember the learning even more. In our modern, ever-changing world, CSIT is a class much needed for individuals to grow and shape with knowledge and the resources needed to succeed in technological endeavors.
