The third and final semester of student teacher was the most emotional, and worthwhile experience. I was able to build relationships that will be valuable in the future. I learned lessons by failing, which I also came to realize are the most useful to reflect on. It is important not to jump to conclusions and get the whole story before addressing questions. I learned that holding onto feelings is not the way to be a teacher you have to process the feelings and reflect on them. This is a field where I will always be learning, working on myself and always finding ways to improve or evolve. Education is an area that is always changing and always evolving. I started the semester off in the classroom and ended virtually at home. The transition was smoother than I could have ever dreamed. I was in a school that had the resources in place and students who were lucky enough to adapt to the change in learning. My CT was a very handy resource to have during this time and is a resource that I will continue to use over the course of my career. There is always something to learn and there is always ways to improve. I learned that it is important to be a team player while also being confident enough to go my own way to meet the needs of my students. I have learned that no matter what I should never stop trying to reach the students who struggle while challenging the ones who exceed. I also have learned the importance of social and emotional learning and so many other techniques that will be invaluable throughout my career. The most important thing I learned is that building relationships take time and becoming an effective teacher takes consistent work and reflection. It really does take a village.
