MIgraine Companion
Privacy Policy · Last updated May 8, 2026
Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how the mobile application MIgraine Companion ("the App") collects, uses, and protects your information. The App is owned and operated by Iuldashov Rustam Muhiddinovich ("we," "us," or "our").
By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. We are committed to protecting your privacy and complying with all applicable laws, including App Store and Google Play requirements.
Information We Collect and Access
We only collect or access information that is necessary to provide and improve the App's functionality. Most data is stored locally on your device. The exceptions are the optional Ask Mi cloud feature and the optional Mi Watch biometric prediction feature, both described in detail below.
The types of information the App may access (with your explicit permission) include:
Personal Identifiers
When you log in via Google or Apple, we receive basic profile information such as your name and email address. This is used for authentication and account identification purposes. We do not have access to your login passwords or any financial information.
Health Data
You may input or record health-related information, including:
Migraine attacks
Symptoms and triggers
Medications
Related notes
This sensitive health data is stored on your device and used solely to help you track and manage your migraines.
Wearable Device Data
If you choose to sync the App with wearable devices (such as a smartwatch or fitness tracker), the App may collect data from those devices including heart rate variability, resting heart rate, body temperature, respiratory rate, sleep duration and quality, blood oxygen, and similar physiological metrics.
If you choose to enable the optional Mi Watch prediction feature, this biometric data is transmitted to our servers (Cloudflare Workers KV) to compute your personal baseline patterns and detect early migraine signals. See the Mi Watch Prediction section below for full details.
If you do not enable Mi Watch prediction, all wearable data remains on your device.
Geolocation
With your permission, the App can access your device's location data. For instance, you might log the location of a migraine episode or allow the App to detect environmental factors (like weather or altitude) that could be migraine triggers. Location data is used only for providing these features to you and is not shared with us or third parties.
Microphone
With your consent, the App may use your device's microphone to record voice notes about your symptoms. Any audio recorded stays on your device; we do not transmit or analyze your voice recordings on our servers.
Notifications
The App may send you push notifications or alerts (for example, reminder notifications to log your daily condition or take medication). Notification preferences can be configured in the App or your device settings. We do not collect personal information through push notifications.
Optional Cloud Features (Ask Mi AI Advisor)
If you choose to use the optional Ask Mi feature — our AI migraine advisor available at mi-companion.com/ask-mi.html — limited data may be transmitted from your device to our servers. This feature involves cloud storage of your data and is entirely optional.
What you can choose to upload
Your Constellation profile data (a structured JSON export from MI Lab containing your phenotyping quiz results — for example, your caffeine metabolism type, alcohol sensitivity profile, and similar biochemical patterns)
The email address you provide as your account identifier
Your subscription status (if you purchase Ask Mi PRO access)
What is NOT uploaded automatically
Your migraine diary entries
Individual symptom logs, triggers, or notes
Location data
Voice recordings or microphone data
Biometric data and Ask Mi
If you have enabled the optional Mi Watch prediction feature (described in the next section), Ask Mi may include relevant biometric patterns from your data when generating personalized responses. For example, if you ask "why am I tired today?", Ask Mi may reference patterns Mi has noticed in your recent biometrics.
You can disable biometric awareness in Ask Mi at any time without disabling Mi Watch itself. When disabled, Ask Mi responds without any biometric context, just like before Mi Watch was active.
Your messages to Ask Mi are processed in real time but are not permanently stored on our servers — chat history exists only in your browser session.
Where this data is stored
Constellation profile data is stored using Cloudflare Workers KV, a secure key-value storage service operated by Cloudflare, Inc. Data is identified by your email address and remains stored until you choose to delete it.
How to delete your Constellation data at any time
Tap the green star icon next to "PRO" in the header (or the upload card if no profile is loaded)
Tap the × button in the popup that appears
Your Constellation data will be permanently removed from our servers
You can also email us at hello@mi-companion.com to request deletion of any data associated with your email address. We will process such requests within 7 business days.
Optional Cloud Features (Mi Watch Prediction)
If you choose to enable the optional Mi Watch feature — our personalized migraine prediction system based on Apple Watch biometrics — biometric data from your wearable device is transmitted to our servers to compute personal baseline patterns and detect early signals of an approaching migraine. This feature is entirely optional.
What is uploaded
Heart rate variability (HRV) measurements
Resting heart rate measurements
Body temperature variations
Respiratory rate
Sleep duration and quality metrics (awakenings, deep sleep, REM)
Blood oxygen saturation (if your device supports it)
Menstrual cycle day (if you log it in Apple Health)
Timestamps of migraine events you register through the app
The email address you provide as your account identifier
What is NOT uploaded
Your migraine diary entries (notes, triggers, symptoms)
Location data
Voice recordings
Any other Apple Health data not listed above
How the data is used
Mi Watch computes your personal baseline (your normal physiological state) and your personal signature (the pattern your body shows before migraines). When new biometric measurements arrive, Mi Watch compares them against your patterns to assess whether early migraine signals are present.
If signals are strong enough, Mi may send you a notification to slow down and take care of yourself. The system is rate-limited to a maximum of 2 alerts per week to prevent alert fatigue.
Where this data is stored
Biometric data is stored using Cloudflare Workers KV, a secure key-value storage service operated by Cloudflare, Inc. Data is identified by your email address. We retain a rolling 30-day window of biometric measurements per user; older data is automatically discarded.
How to control your biometric data
Disable biometric sharing with Ask Mi: Use the privacy toggle in app settings to prevent Mi from referencing biometric patterns in Ask Mi conversations. Mi Watch prediction continues working; only Ask Mi context injection stops.
Export all your biometric data: Available via the export function in app settings, or by emailing hello@mi-companion.com. You receive a complete JSON snapshot of all biometric data we hold about you.
Delete all your biometric data: Available via the delete function in app settings (requires explicit confirmation), or by emailing hello@mi-companion.com. Deletion is permanent and irreversible.
Disable Mi Watch entirely: Stop syncing your wearable in app settings. No new data will be uploaded. You can additionally delete all existing data using the delete function above.
Your choice, your control
Both Ask Mi and Mi Watch are opt-in only. The App functions fully without uploading any data to our servers. If you never use Ask Mi and never enable Mi Watch, no health-related information ever leaves your device.
⚠ Important: By default, all health data is stored only on your device. We do not automatically upload or send your personal data, health records, migraine logs, or any sensitive information to any server. The only exceptions are the optional Ask Mi and Mi Watch features described above — and only if you actively choose to use them.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information available on your device solely to provide you with the App's core features and to improve your experience. Typical purposes include:
Allowing you to log migraine attacks, symptoms, triggers, and notes so you can better understand your condition over time
Generating visual summaries, charts, or patterns from your data to help you identify trends
Personalizing reminders or notifications to support consistent tracking and medication adherence
Computing personal baseline and signature patterns from biometric data (Mi Watch feature only) to detect early migraine signals
Providing personalized AI conversations through Ask Mi (only if you upload a Constellation profile)
Providing therapeutic features like breathing exercises and relaxation games to help manage migraine symptoms
We do not use your data for advertising or marketing purposes. There are no third-party ads in the App, and we do not sell or disclose your data to advertising networks or data brokers.
Your Right to Account Deletion
In accordance with App Store guidelines and data privacy regulations, you have the right to delete your account and all associated personal data at any time.
How to Delete Your Account
Open the main menu (the Drawer) in the app
Scroll to the bottom of the menu
Tap the "Delete Account" button
A confirmation screen will appear to prevent accidental deletion
Confirm your choice to proceed
⚠ Consequences of Deletion
Account deletion is a permanent and irreversible action. The following data will be permanently erased:
Profile — Name, email address, user ID
Journal — Pain levels, symptoms, triggers, notes
Health Data — Sleep history, menstrual cycle data
Food — All meal entries
Medications — All medication records
Settings — Reminders and configurations
Biometric data on our servers (if Mi Watch was enabled)
Constellation profile on our servers (if uploaded)
For users who signed in with Google, this process also includes revoking the App's permissions to access your Google account information.
For users who signed in with Apple, you can manage app permissions in your device's Settings under your Apple ID.
Alternative Deletion Method
You can also request account deletion by contacting us at: hello@mi-companion.com
We will process your request within 7 business days.
We may retain anonymized and aggregated data that cannot be linked back to you for statistical purposes to improve our services.
Data Storage and Security
Most personal and health data used by the App is stored locally on your device. The exceptions are the optional Ask Mi and Mi Watch features, which use cloud storage (Cloudflare Workers KV) for data that is required to provide those features.
Because of this design, you are in control of your data and can delete it at any time by:
Uninstalling the App
Using the in-app deletion tools
Using the export and delete functions for cloud-stored data (if you used Ask Mi or Mi Watch)
Emailing hello@mi-companion.com
🔐 Security Recommendations
Because most data is stored on your device, it is important that you secure your device (for example, with a passcode or biometric lock) to prevent unauthorized access. If your device is lost, stolen, or compromised, your data could be accessed by others.
For cloud-stored data (Ask Mi and Mi Watch), we use Cloudflare's enterprise-grade infrastructure with encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and encryption at rest.
☁ Cloud Backup
If you use your device's backup features (iCloud or Google Drive), your App data may be included in those backups according to your device settings. This is managed by Apple or Google, not by us.
Third-Party Services
The App may interact with third-party services for the following purposes:
Google Sign-In — Account creation and login
Apple Sign-In — Account creation and login
App Store / Google Play — App distribution and updates
Weather Services — Weather-related migraine trigger information
Cloudflare, Inc. — Hosting and storage for the optional Ask Mi and Mi Watch features (only if used)
Google Cloud (Vertex AI) — AI language model that generates Ask Mi responses (only if used). When biometric awareness is enabled, biometric patterns may be included in prompts sent to Vertex AI.
Apple Push Notification Service (APNs) — Delivery of Mi Watch alerts to your iOS device (only if Mi Watch is enabled)
Monobank — Payment processing for optional Ask Mi PRO subscription (only if purchased)
These third parties may collect certain technical data (for example, crash reports or analytics) under their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review:
Cloudflare, Google Cloud, APNs, and Monobank are only involved if you choose to use the optional Ask Mi feature, the Mi Watch feature, or purchase a subscription. They have no access to your data unless you explicitly enable these features.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We also do not share your migraine logs, health information, biometric data, or personal notes with any third party except as required to deliver the optional features described above.
International Users and Data Rights
If you are in the European Union, California, or other regions with laws granting data subject rights (such as GDPR or CCPA), you have the following rights:
Right to Access — Access all your data directly within the App, plus export your biometric data and Constellation profile from the cloud storage if you used those features
Right to Deletion — Delete your account and all data at any time, including cloud-stored biometric data and Constellation profile
Right to Data Portability — Export data using the App's backup features, plus structured JSON exports for biometric data via the dedicated export function
Right to Rectification — Edit your entries directly in the App
Right to Withdraw Consent — Disable Mi Watch, Ask Mi, biometric awareness in Ask Mi, or all of the above at any time without affecting your ability to use the rest of the App
If you contact us about any privacy concern, we will do our best to assist. If you believe we have any of your personal data (for instance, an email you sent to support), you may request that we delete it.
No Selling of Personal Data: We do not sell personal information of any users, including minors, as per applicable privacy laws including CCPA.
Children's Privacy
Our App is not intended for use by children under the age of 13 (or 16 in some jurisdictions). We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13.
If you are under 13 (or a minor under the laws of your country), please do not use this App without parental consent. Parents or guardians should supervise the use of this App by minors.
If we become aware that we have inadvertently gathered personal data from a child under 13, we will delete that information immediately.
