Location and Accessibility

Camp Young Judaea -- Texas Retreat and Conference Center is located 45 minutes south of Austin, TX (between Austin and San Antonio).

CYJ-Texas Retreat Center is a certified kosher facility and outside food/drink is not allowed in the dining building.

Travel – You should plan to book your travel through Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS). The airport is about 40 miles from the Conference Center. Google Maps indicates travel time between the airport and the Camp is approximately 50 minutes to an hour. However, it is recommended that you allow around 1.5 hours for the trip when making travel plans.

Camp Accommodations – There are three housing options at the Camp. All accommodations include linens, pillow and towels. Financial assistance is available to help with housing costs. Please do not hesitate to ask for financial assistance if the housing option you want/need costs more than you can afford. There is a spot to request assistance on the last page of the registration form.

  • Cabins – Standard camp accommodations with bunk beds and a communal shower. [Options: women only, men only, all genders] The Cabins are varying distances from our meeting space and dining hall. According to facility staff, Cabin rooms have accessible showers and pull bars in the stalls, but getting into or out of the bunk beds may be challenging for some people.
  • The Lodge – private accommodations with a queen-sized bed and one single-sized bed with a private bathroom. This facility is approximately 300 yards from our meeting space and the dining hall. According to facility staff, Lodge rooms are generally accessible with accessible showers, but pull bars are absent.
  • Namaste Center – private accommodations with a queen-sized bed and two single-sized beds in the form of a bunk bed with a private bathroom. This Center is next door to our meeting space and the dining hall. According to facility staff, two rooms in Namaste are completely wheelchair accessible. The others are partially accessible, but do not have full pull bars in all of the bathrooms.
