Master Eric Waterman started Taekwondo in 1988 at Oriental Martial Arts College in Indianapolis, Indiana, under Grandmaster Choi.  He trained on and off with OMAC through the 1990's and early 2000's.  In 2009, after a long break from martial arts, he met Master Kristin Waterman and started to train with her at North Indy Taekwondo Club until they opened their school in 2012.

Master Eric Waterman started competing at tournaments after just two weeks of starting class.  He was hooked from the start.  He competed in USTU (now USAT) during the 1990's, and at one point was ranked #4 in the nation for olympic sparring.  He was also invited to the Olympic Training Center for camp in 1994.  Master Waterman has competed from grass roots to national level in sparring, and up through international level in forms and weapons.

He has been heavily involved in AAU since 2009.  What started as officiating within Indiana has grown quite a bit.  He served Indiana AAU as the AAU Indiana State President/Director for Taekwondo for almost a decade.  He has been the Indiana AAU Governor over all sports since 2024.  He also has served at the national level in Taekwondo as National Chair for Point Sparring.  He has officiated all over the country, from grass roots, state chamionships, Junior Olympics and national championships.  He is a very good, fair official.  He also trains officials all over the midwest.

Master Waterman is currently a 5th degree black belt, and still is very heavily involved in AAU at the local and national levels.  He is also a level 2 self defense certified instructor for Combat Taekwondo.
