Past Defender:
Ademar Donadei di Pietro
Hail to the brave!
The time has come when Ayresgarde has need of a new defender of heavy combat! Why pray tell? Hasn't Ademar carried our beautiful shield to events these past two years? Yes. Has he not represented our fine shire with vigor both on and off the field? Yes. Has he not fulfilled his oath and duties as a noble defender of Ayresgarde? Also yes. But this is precisely why he must now pass down the torch to another worthy fighter.
Your chance to be the next heavy defender of Ayresgarde shall be decided by contest against all who wish to vie or test your metal. Whether from near or far, if the spirit of Ayresgarde flows through you, and you are willing to defend its name to the known world, then fight for the honour of representing this fine shire, and leave it all in the field today.
AD POSTRUMUM!

Round 1 Tower Topple:
Using an over sized stacking tower set, each fighter will demonstrate point control using their Rapier to push blocks out of the tower. The number of blocks they can remove equals the number of points they are awarded. Another fighter counts the blocks until the tower falls then reports back to the lists.
Round 2 Best 2 out of 3:
Each of the three bouts is worth 1 point for a win. Wins against mods are worth 2 points. The fighter with the most points wins this round.
Round 3 Bridge Troll Tourney:
Each fighter holds the bridge against 3 fighters. The Troll is invincible except for head shots. When the troll dies they have to rez at their side of the bridge. Each Rez counts against the fighters total points.
Finals:
Top 2 fighters are the commander of their side; they must spend their points to arm their war band. The commander of the War band that successfully takes out the other commander is the new Defender
Points: may be adjusted depending on total number of fighters
Single sword 1 pt
Sword and baton/ or cloak 2 Pt
Sword & Dagger 3 pt
Sword & Buckler 3 Pt
Case 5 Pt

Teiter Tott
For those vying to become the Archery Defender of the glorious Shire of Aryesgarde, listen well! The Tournament Format will be a round robin into finals for the ones vying who have the most wins (I might add a semifinal if there are enough entrants).
We are doing Ellias's Gambit with a slight twist! The twist is that a non vying spectator, or in the absence of one Lord Teitr Tott, will shoot an arrow at the target to determine where the archers are aiming. Each archer will then have 3 arrows to shoot and their goal will be to have their arrows land closest to the arrow shot by the spectator. The arrow that lands furthest away will be eliminated and then they will shoot again with the arrows they have remaining until one archer is out of arrows. If both archers miss the target entirely then they can shoot those arrows again. If the arrows miss the target a second time then both arrows will be eliminated.
Good Luck to all entrants!
Yours in Service,
Aryesgarde Archery Defender,
Lord Teitr Tott
