We will be there for the December 6 walk and the December 7 Wannamaker work day! Fingers crossed, the rain will let up!
And just like that, winter is here. All of those outdoor chores you have been putting off because of mosquitoes and sweat now require a heavy coat and Chap-Stick. And that assumes you can find a dry day to do it!
Soon enough, Congaree Swamp will become a 20,000 acre, tree-filled lake, squirrel nests will be overflowing with acorns, and we will all be looking forward to that first hint of spring. But there are so many things to enjoy in the winter! Learn the song of Brown Creeper. Watch a flock of Cedar Waxwings swoop in and eat every berry on a bush. Bundle up and listen for the first birdsong at daybreak.
