Welcome to Middlesex County Fire Buffs! This site is owned and operated by Danny Mizak Jr, a 3rd-generation firefighter / Junior Firefighter in Colonia, NJ. I have been around the fire service my whole life, being brought up in the Avenel Fire Department. I started fire buffing and photography in 2020. Despite the name, I frequently travel outside of Middlesex County and photograph incidents and apparatus. Photos taken by me have appeared in many news articles, fire department publications, papers, magazines, and fire department websites. My dad, grandfather, and uncle are all firemen in Avenel. When I'm not buffing, I enjoy training at the firehouse, playing baseball, welding, and spending time with family and friends.
