TASK
You have been given a full sized paper paper net (template) that you can use to physically model your three initial design ideas.
You should:
Consider how your three dimensional design can be transferred to the 2D net - specifically thinking of size and which lines should be cut or folded
Draw your design onto the net template
Cut and assemble the design into a physical model
Photograph, test and add your model and add evidence to your portfolio
Each model should be added to this portfolio slide along with a short evaluation before choosing which will be developed further.
GUIDANCE
Mark out your design onto the paper net - use a ruler to ensure accuracy of measurements
2. Using a steel rule and a craft knife, carefully cut the lines added and the outer lines of the net
3. Fold all of the dashed fold lines on the net before glueing and transforming into the model shape
4. Transform your assembled paper carton into the intended design
5. Add a photo of your paper model to your portfolio and evaluate the positives and possible improvements - look to your specification, how many of these criteria are met?
6. Repeat this process two more times so that you have modelled and analysed three suitable design options before deciding which is most suitable
