My name is Devin Lussier, I’m a servery worker here and I work up at language tables whenever they’re running. I really do a lot of different stuff around here because I started in the dish room and then I started doing basic stuff around here, I was part time. And then I ended up having a family, so I decided I needed a little bit more, so I became full time. And then I’ve just been full time here since, working for the same people for years and becoming friends with some of them. I have a lot of family here. Most of my family works here actually.
How long have you been working here?
About seven years now.
Do you have, anything outside, when you’re not working what do you enjoy doing?
Just a little bit of everything. Usually nothing particular, playing sports with friends or the kids. Going hiking, stuff like that. I used to bike all the time, that’s something I like to do. Just bike, bike around town, bike the trails, stuff like that. Lately it’s been more home focused because I have 3 kids at home of varying ages. Recently, my girlfriend got in an accident, about a year ago.
Is there anything that you enjoy doing with your kids in particular? Do you have any weekend activities that you do?
We haven’t really done anything on routine but, even going for walks. We do that on occasion and they have fun doing that. Getting out. Just going anywhere.
Do you see yourself staying at Middlebury?
As of right now, yes, I do. I’m comfortable here so it’s a little bit harder to think I want to leave because I know what I’m doing here, I know the people here. Coming here isn’t hard because it’s like walking into your own home, I’m so used to the place.
Do you have any dreams or things that you are really hoping to do at some point?
There was a few things. One thing was have my own forge, as weird as that sounds, like a medal forge. I’ve always been interested in that stuff. I tried doing some of that stuff myself, but not with any real equipment – it didn’t go so well. I mean, I’ve kinda looked into and I thought that’s actually a possibility, something I’d want to do.
