Purpose
To promote the study of the mathematical sciences in the Mid-Atlantic region (including, but not limited to, VA, WV, MD, DE, DC) by all individuals, regardless of identity or circumstances.
To create a community of students and researchers in the Mid-Atlantic region committed to improving the diversity and inclusivity of the mathematical sciences.
Mission
To increase the number of doctoral degrees in the mathematical sciences among groups that have been traditionally underrepresented in those fields.
To improve placement of students from these groups in doctoral programs in disciplines that recruit undergraduate students from the mathematical sciences.
To provide support, networking opportunities, and educational programs for faculty invested in improving justice, equity, diversity, and inclusivity of the mathematical sciences.
