The Roadrunner Kitchen, established in February 2018, is a food pantry dedicated to supporting students facing food insecurity. Located in the Fred L. Mathews Library, the pantry has exceeded expectations in its impact.
Our Roadrunner Kitchen was modeled after the Cardinal Kitchen Food Pantry at Ball State University, which was founded in 2015 to address at-risk students.
This is where you come in! Your support can help alleviate student hunger, enabling them to thrive and reach their full potential at SMC.
FOR EVERY CANNED GOOD OR FOOD ITEM YOU BRING TO THE CONFERENCE, WE WILL GIVE YOU ONE RAFFLE TICKET FOR THE PRIZE DRAWING WE HAVE PLANNED FOR THE CLOSE OF THE CONFERENCE!
PRIZES WILL BE DONATED BY MANY OF OUR TALENTED FACULTY AND STAFF, ALONG WITH GOODIES FROM OUR VERY GENEROUS LOCAL VENDORS!
The Facts:
🍎 The pantry is up +64% in items given from Fall 2023 to Fall 2024
🥕 In the 2023-2024 school year the pantry served 147 students 640 times
🥖 Of the students who use this resource, 79% of them live on campus
🥦 Over half of the students who use the pantry have no regular income
