Pixel Art Portrait
I learned a little on animation. The hardest part of the assignment was drawing the figure. What I like the most of this project was doing the animation. If I were to do this assignment again I would try to add more shadings.
Burger Challenge
Something that I enjoyed the most is that I can make the burger however I like. I enjoyed it because I had free will. The most challenging part was trying to make it realistic. It was challenging because I am not good at realistic drawing. Something I learned is how to use photoshop.
Emojis
Dynasty Fashion
The color harmony that I picked was triad. I think the colors work well because the dark and light colors help to keep harmony. I think the patterns work well because none of the patterns seem to overshadow each other. What I learned after completing this project was that patterns are difficult to make and that the colors have to be in harmony. What I found the most challenging about this project was creating a pattern.
Tattoo
The reason this tattoo has fish bones and a clock is because I like to eat fish and I'm interested in hand clocks. This tattoo represents that death is only minutes away. The flowers show that even though death is scary and unknow, but it is also beautiful. The most challenging part of this assignment was making the actual tattoo. Figuring out what to draw, how to put them together, and how to make it pop.
Postcard
This postcard is made for you to go to Tokyo, Japan. They have a variety of food and many different places to visit. They have creative food choices, such as making them look like characters from shows or movies. They are very cute and look tasty. Tokyo looks beautiful in the night and the purple flowers also look gorgeous. The purple flowers seem to shine in the dark and the pink roses and white flowers have a refreshing look.
The most challenging part was fixing the animation. Finding what parts the animation is missing to make it look smooth.
I am happy with the ending result. It was pretty hard to find out what to make. I showed that I tried my best by adding details.
The part I like most is that the stars the fish have are the only part of the GIF that shines. They are lighting the dark.
I did enjoy the assignment because of how the stars are the light of the show.
I would probably make it much neater.
Animal Mashup
For the fish bunny I combined a fish and a bunny. I decided to combine them because I thought it would look funny. I will call my new creation calypspin. I believe mt creature might not survive in the real world because the bunny part will not find a place to camouflage in the water. Photo-manipulation is an important topic today because many people can do it.
For my second animals I combined a snake, chicken, a skull, and hands. I decided to combine these because I wanted to make something scary, but also to make sure that it was different from the basilisk. I will call my creation krankip. I believe that my creation will survive in the real world because it is a dangerous animal to come across. Like said before photo-manipulation is important because it can be used for many things and people can all do it.
A Tiny Planet
The planet I decided to create is a fairy planet. I would not inhabit this planet. This planet is made for fairies, meaning that every house and object will be tiny. They have a forest of mushrooms and some blue glowing looking trees. They have huge tea cups as seats and a tea pot as a house. For light they use blue lanterns and the glowing flowers. There are colorful rocks to show the way and candy as food. A ring on flowers surrounds their planet. I decided to create this planet because I wanted something majestic. All I knew is that I wanted to put glowing mushrooms and tea cups. It personal to me because I like mushrooms and tea sets. The little fairies I put were from a show I would watch when younger. The most challenging thing out of this project was trying to make the objects in the center look roundish. To improve my planet I would add more things. but then I feel like the planet is crowed. I could of maybe tried to make the objects more roundish.
Landmark Poster
Using the pen tool in illustrator wasn't all the hard. It consumed a lot of time and it got annoying doing the same thing every time. Especially if the landmark picked is something big. The toughest part was putting the details into place. It was also making all the details because there were so many needed shapes to make the building look like the actual building. The landmark I picked is the called the Red Square. This landmark is found in Moscow, Russia. I did this landmark because of how it looked. The landmark is a very fun looking building. All the colors used to make the building work nice together making the building a beautiful sight to see. Also it's not a building I can see everyday. People will be able to recognize the landmark in my poster because of the details, colors, and the architect. One more thing is the location. The decided to put the building in the bottom left corner. I tried to use the same colors of the building with some shadows. Finally the words used were just the location of the building and the saying people would call it. I also made the background a blue with stars and added a cat to the side of the building. Turning a real place into a digital picture was very hard and tiring. The most tiring and important part were all the details. Without the details the building will not have that look of perspective or its 3D-ish look. They were needed to see where is what and what tower goes in the front, middle and back part. When people look at my poster they might not get a good representation of Russia because it doesn't really show Russia environment. It just shows one building and a cat. If people look at it and want to go to Russia they might see something completely different. The environment there might seem every different then what the poster portraits. It fits in digital art because it is easier to access on computer, phone, etc. Also it can be uploaded onto any media.
Book Cover
The design I chose is the first one. I think that the design I made does indeed align with the story. And yes, I do think that the colors I chose help give a tone. I had chose a red for the background to show that there is trouble brewing. I made Alice crying to not show that she is sad, but more of being frustrated. I also made the hat, cups and camera unique looking colors. For one I wanted to make the camera glow-y like to make it show or seem that it is unique. The one thing that might catch the audience attention would be the camera because of the color it is. As said before the camera is a glowing green color. When it comes to the type of genre the book cover might give off something different then the actual story. It might give horror, gory but the story isn't really scary. Its more of what conquers what. I think the eye catching thing in the front is the queen of hearts or maybe Alice. It could be those two because they are in the forms of shadows. Then again people might be attracted to the big clock. People don't really put into account that covers can have a meaning or message behind them. In this case the clock should be seen using army time. One of the elements of art that I used is positive and negative shape. This was used to show the silhouettes of Alice and the Queen of Hearts. The bright white clock helps outline where the Queen of Hearts stands and the white outline on Alice helps people see Alice. The principle of Design that I used is contrast. As stated before I used black and white to outline the shadows of Alice and the Queen of Hearts.
Logos
The final design I chose is the sharp edged M and R. The M is covered in all black and there are sharp lines coming from two spots in the M. On the top right corner and the bottom left left there are sharp purple lines. The R is colored orange with black lines. There are some lines on the top and more lines were added to the middle of the R. The part where the legs are connected to the circle that creates the top part of the R. A few highlights were added to both the M and the R. I decided on this design because I liked the colors. It also called out to me more than the other designs I made. Does my logo represent me? Maybe. When making the logo I just decided to make the M and R have sharp edges, but thinking about it, the edges represent my bluntness. When someone is being blunt their words can pierce you. It just depends what they say. I think bluntness can be sharp and pointy.

Magazine
A challenge I faced while doing this project is making sub-titles. It was hard to figure out what kinds of titles to use for the smaller context because it had to somewhat match what the main magazine is about. A way to over come this problem was use titles that are similar and shocking. I also tried to make them seem related to the drawings. At first I wanted to do something similar to the art magazines called HI FRUCTOSE. Later on, I decided to change the drawing and try to go for something creepy. Some feedback that was given to me was to add color. I go random with color, so having someone give me color help is very helpful. If I were to change anything about the project is the background. I feel like the background looks too clean, especially since the type is creepy. It also doesn't give magazine vibes.
Skate Board
When I first had to make a design for the skateboard I had a few ideas from what I once saw before. I had remembered people drawing star heads with human bodies and I also thought about the little blue star from the Mario movie. I knew that I also wanted to make a person star head but I didn't want it to look the same as others. I also liked the idea that they could float around and move in space. Another design that I wanted to make had something to do with Yin and Yang. The yin and yang ones were all a little similar to each other. The reason they weren't picked is because I liked the star kids drawing. My design doesn't really have the Principle of Design: movement as the main attraction. It is more of a passing in the background where smaller little star kids are playing. When I drew the little star kids falling in the back I wanted it to seem as if they were doing a cannon ball but in space. This gives the board a more playful feeling. Truthfully, when designing I'm not really thinking of why I make it but if I like it. If the design feels fun to me, almost like if it could showcase a little of what I like or the ideas I have. My design stands out from others because not many can see what it is that I designed. Of course they can say that it looks nice, but some people could be confused by what it is that I designed. In other terms, they don't see the vision. My design is different from others because of the feeling it gives. Every design will give a different feeling to the person that is looking at them. It all depended on the colors, the design, and the person that is seeing them. Like I said before the feeling that my design gives could be as a playful, happy environment. My skateboard should be chosen because it is fun looking and the colors used all work well together.
Cereal
The cereal box design effectively communicates with my brand's identity and appeals to the audience of kids because of the cute mascots and the bright colors. Some design elements I used were value, form and space. Value was to make the tongue textures show. Form was used to make the apples seem 3 dimensional and on the bowl of cereal. Space was used on the apples to make them seem like they are falling in the back. The message is that kids should buy it. This catches their attention because it looks like candy, the colors are bring, and the characters are cute. To enhance the look I could have added more bring colors. If I could redesign it I would have added a toy on the box.
Movie Poster
In my poster I decided to highlight the way I jump from reality to my imagination. I used color to show where the boat wishes to go. Color was used to demonstrate where more life happens and where the boat was leaving from. The genre I chose for my movie is fantasy because it moves from the soul of the person that is trying to leave reality for some time to live in a fantasy world. When in the fantasy world one can relax, but there is always something trying to get the soul back to reality. The most challenging part of the poster was making it fit me. I didn't know what genre to make it and how to make it for it to fit me. In the end I had figured out that instead of just looking at the real world, why not have my fantasy world join. Looking back at the design I would not change but add a hand that attempts to grab the boat back into the real world. I'm most proud of the way I demonstrated the way the boat was trying to leave reality and jump into a fantasy world. It also shows that even if you're in a fantasy land you will always have to return to the real world.
Logos
The main elements I used are shape and color. I used these to represent the logo because the client does kid books and so we need something child-like and fun. The logo communicates the child-like concept of what the client does. She writes books for kids and the color used give a playful/fun feeling. The most challenging part of making a logo that fits the client is the design that brings out what the client wants to show. The colors seem a little too bland. I used different types of fonts and a cartoon kind of look.
