Personal Biographical Statement
In the middle of the family is where I am. Two other sisters are responsible and two younger sisters are glued to their phones or tablets. Being a middle child means being in the middle of a mess. Sometimes the mess is good as it brings excitement in my life like being silly. There are times when it is not- as it causes stress when they make a mess in the living room. When I was young, I was not much of a believer. I was taught about Jesus and God at an early age but that did not help with my faith that much. The day my twin got covid in 2020 changed my faith.
I would pray that she would get better because she was not herself. She lost a lot of motivation and strength. She would be laying down when she had covid. With having faith, I learn to have faith that she will be okay. Learning about having faith in myself too, changed me into a better version of myself. Faith gave me something I never thought I could have, which is hope and confidence. I am continuing to try to build my confidence. I am a Mexican American, it is who I am. I am not ashamed of who I am. The skill I have is my vocals. I keep practicing to improve my vocal while I sing for the choir. I would listen to my voice in a recording and see if I could make some improvements. During my time at FPU (Fresno Pacific University), I did one volunteer experience at the Fresno Harvest Carnival. It is very eye-opening to do some volunteer work. I was put into helping others with the ring toss game. I enjoyed seeing so many expressions of frustration, determination, and joy as they tossed the rings. Things I enjoy doing is working in a group because everyone has their own opinion and ideas. When working in a group every equally participates. When having a group with people you do not know helps connect with them and learn more about them. When I have free time, I focus on my hobbies which are drawing, organizing, and reading comics. When I would be drawing, I would draw something that comes to my mind. I would be organizing the inside of my backpack and binder. I would fix up my notes so they would not be all over the place. The personality trait I can identify myself with is a clumsy, observant, kind, active, and responsible person. As I am clumsy, I tend to sometimes trip on a lot of things. When I am observant, I watch and learn before doing something quickly. I would watch and learn before quickly doing something. Observing my surroundings to tell if the situation is getting worse. Being kind to others brings joy to people's lives. It also impacts your first impression of others you do not know. My values are being truthful to not steering someone in the wrong direction and not steering someone in the wrong direction on in life. Another of my values is to respect those I may or may not know. Lastly one of my favorite personal values is to listen. If you need someone to listen to what you are dealing with, I will lend you, my ears.
