Course Content
Not only know all 250 works and their artist/date/medium, but know the period and movement.
Create a timeline of all the works and visualise it through there. (This makes comparison and visualisation easier).
Attribution
Know attributive features of every artist/culture.
For example: Gauguin's skin tones and usage of colour, Mehretu's dynamic sense of movement in abstract forms, or features of Hellenistic Greek marble sculptures.
Dates
Remember, you do not need to know the exact date on each specific work, but be familiar with the timeframe.
If the object is very ancient, you have a 1000 year window.
If the object has a more secure yet "old" date, you have a 100 year window.
If the object is from the middle ages to the 20th century, you have a 50-year spread.
If the object is from the 20th to the 21st centuries, you have a 10 year window.
