We live near Windsor Ontario and both work full time.
We just purchased this property in June of 2021 and are in the process of fixing it up. it was empty for a while before it went on the market as an estate sale. So far, a new deck is in place, new flooring and new kitchen. It is also freshly painted. New windows, new shower unit, heat pump, propane were completed in 2022
We are also in the process of cleaning up the yard and forest area but it all takes time.
We purchased this property with the intent to retire in it several years down the road and our goal is continuously improve the property for our golden years. In the interim our goal is to rent it out so others can enjoy it and to cover the costs of the ownership. We are not out to make a big buck like other cottages are, we just want to cover the costs as much as we can.
We truly hope you enjoy your stay and we welcome suggestions on improvements on some of the things that are not obvious or that we noted above. We are new at this short-term rental and are learning the ropes.
Also remember this is a country property that is privately owned and is not a big corporation like the Marriott. Mice can occasionally get in the cottage along with insects when doors and windows are left open
